My dad's family was so welcoming, and treated Reenie as their own. I am grateful for family.

Reenie was a positive light in my life. I will never forget her support through some difficult times. I will never forget our talks, tears, and hugs

Reenie's smile was not only contagious, but it was heart felt and genuine. She was a beautiful soul.

Dad and Reenie were made for each other through and through.

When Reenie married my dad, you could tell it was forever. I have never seen my dad so happy.

I didn't know Rennie very well. She married my Uncle Darrell. I met her at a family reunion and again during Darrell's last trip to Dallas. I really enjoyed visiting with her during those times. She was really sweet and enjoyable to visit with.

Lorene Skaggs Davidson aka as my Aunt Reenie, was my Mom's only sister and the definition of the aunt that every girl needs/wants.  My first memories of her revolve around July vacations when Mom and I would visit her in Tennessee to go to Opryland/the Opry, but as I grew older that turned into weeklong visits by myself.  During those visits our bond grew, and she became so much more to me than an aunt.  We shared a bond that very few people are fortunate enough to experience and not everyone understands.  My Mom has always said I was more like Aunt Reenie than I was her, and in a lot of ways that is true, Aunt Reenie helped mold me into the person I am today.  I was blessed to be loved by her and even more so that she loved my girls just like she did me.  I will forever be grateful for that love and the lifetime of memories that we shared.

She would probably fuss about this picture  but it’s to good not to share.  She didn’t swim but she always went to watch and be entertained by my girls.  Basically, whatever they wanted she did and that didn’t stop when they were little.  She cooked their favorite meals, took them to their favorite stores, and pampered them with pedicures.

This was taken just a couple of months after Aunt Reenie had open heart surgery.  I remember her reassuring me over and over that she’d be fine but I was terrified.  We had the best visit that summer just celebrating that she was okay and had no complications.
She didn’t just love my baby but also my oldest.  She and Natalie are SO much alike, if you knew anything about Aunt Reenie you know she loved shoes and she passed that love right on to Natalie as well as the love for shopping in general.  
She was equally as proud of Natalie and I’m forever grateful that she lived long enough to see her get into medical school and get a picture on her white coat.  
Aunt Reenie was a second grandmother to my girls and for that I will forever be grateful.

This was taken on Jenna’s first trip to Texas, her first trip to the pool.  So many amazing memories made at that pool on Sailmaker Lane.

I remember telling her I was going to name my baby after her, she said “Do NOT name that baby Lorene!”, after much argument, she agreed that I could use Lauren(as it’s a variation of Lorene).  So on June 27th, 2024 Jenna Lauren was born and oh what a bond they shared.  Just like the love you can see on her face in this picture, she was so proud of her.  I’m sure her physical therapist in Spring Hill got tired of her telling him that her great niece was going to school to be a physical therapist too.  
They shared more than a name as  they also shared  their love of music(both playing the piano and seeing live country shows)..

My grandparents and all six of their children.  Aunt Reenie was back in Kentucky to visit following my grandfather having surgery.

This was the last photo taken of the six siblings.  They are standing in birth order left to right.  My Mom is now the lone survivor.  They were a great example of what siblings should be as might now have always agreed on things but they always loved and supported each other.

I'm not really good with these kinds of things, but here goes.  Reenie was my 1st boss when I moved to Tennessee.  I had just turned  22 at the time she hired me.  She soon became a Mother figure to me.  She gave me countless bits of advice in the 5 years I worked for her.  Looking back, I should have taken ALL the advice, but stubborn as I am!!!  She was the best, and I loved her dearly!!  I loved getting to see her a couple of times in Texas, but time is a thief,  and I didn't keep in touch as I should have the last 10 years!  I can honestly say, I would not be me without her in my life.    Steve, I'm so sorry for your loss.  You are in my prayers.

My condolences to Steve, his family and Reenie‘s friends. It would take a book to write all the good things about Reenie. She was my supervisor and my friend. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for you. She was always there when you needed her not only as a supervisor but as a dear friend. The best years of my working life were with her and our coworkers.  It was like one big family. She will be missed by many.

Steve, my thoughts and prayers are with you and all your family. Reenie passing has broken our hearts. I worked with your mom at Mill Mituals. My first job in Tennessee. She led the way in welcoming and making that office a family. She and all my co-workers will forever hold a special place in my heart. I know Reenie is now at peace. And probably getting everyone in line.

Steve I don’t know that I have met you in person. I worked with your Mom for many years with a great group of people who are still like family after all these years.  Reenie was a beautiful lady and will be dearly missed. My prayers are with you.
