

She was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on February 25, 1923, the daughter of the late James Camp Gordon and Marie Riley Gordon. Mrs. Corcoran, a seventh generation Nashvillian, graduated in the 1940 class of East High School, and attended George Peabody College until 1942 when WWII sent her to Vultee to participate in the war effort. She retired from Nashville Electric Service as the Principal Associate Engineer in 1990 after 31 years of service.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard; son, Patrick, and brother, James Camp Gordon, Jr.
She is survived by daughter, Riley Corcoran Hedrick and her husband, Dan; grandson, Todd Patrick Hedrick and his wife, Gabby; granddaughter, Katherine Ann Hedrick; great-granddaughter, Amelia Riley Hedrick; sister, Ruth Gordon Allen, and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Mount Olivet Funeral Home on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at ten-thirty in the morning. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Ann’s Episcopal Church or Holy Name Catholic Church, both in Nashville, Tennessee.
