Lucy Reding

Lucy was born on June 23, 1952, to Carl Lewis and Evelyn Lewis.

Lucy was a faithful woman who was deeply involved in her church. She treasured the friendships she made there and especially enjoyed going to lunch and dinner with the ladies from church. She often talked about how much fun they had together and the wonderful memories they created.

Her greatest joy in life was her family. Lucy rarely missed her grandchildren's football and baseball games. She would brave the hot summer sun to watch baseball and the freezing cold to cheer them on during football season. Even when she could not attend in person, she faithfully watched the games on Facebook, and anyone nearby could hear her enthusiastically cheering for her grandchildren from home.

Lucy also loved hosting family barbecues. Her home was always filled with laughter as the children played in the swimming pool, family members competed in cornhole, and everyone gathered around to enjoy plenty of delicious food. She especially loved the holidays, with Thanksgiving and Christmas being her favorites. Her home was always open and welcoming, filled with family, friends, love, and cherished traditions.

Lucy will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, cherished daughter, caring sister, and beloved aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She touched countless lives with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Lewis and Evelyn Lewis; and her brothers, Tony Lewis and Teddy Lewis.

She is survived by her loving husband, Phillip Reding; her sons, Michael (Allie) Reding, Chad (Windy) Reding, Travis Johnson, John (Chasity) Petty, Teeter (Crystal) Bryant, Josh (Priscilla) Tvaroch, and B.J. (Brittany) Browning; her daughter, Kelly Atwell; her cherished grandchildren, JT, MJ, C., Kristian, Mikhayla, Brooklyn, Annabella, Nevaeh, Sophia, Jaxson, Austin, Windy, Legna, Nova, Bella, Logan, Mackenzie, and Liam; her great-grandchildren, Penelope, Lydia, and AJ; her beloved brother, Terry Lewis; her sisters, Mary Ann Cook, Kay (George) Lewis, Pam (JR) Tate, and Sherry (Bennie) Hudgens; two beloved fur babies; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lucy's life during visitation on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, Tennessee 37204. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m., with burial to follow.

Though her presence will be deeply missed, Lucy's legacy of faith, love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
