Margaret Fawbush, 70, passed peacefully on April 23 with her beloved husband Jeff at her side after a short illness.
Margaret was a source of happiness, laughter and love for all around her. Born in Louisville, she came to Nashville as a child and graduated from Two Rivers High School and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She and Jeff relocated to Springfield, Tenn., 34 years ago, shortly after they married.
Margaret had a long career with the Tennessee Department of Corrections, and worked as a counselor to help incarcerated women put their lives and families back together.
In her retirement, Margaret loved needlepoint work and made jewelry with Jeff and participated in craft fairs in multiple states. She gardened and raised roses and loved her houseful of cats.
She was preceded in death by her father, Horace M. Chappell, mother Patricia F. Chappell, brother Michael P. Chappell and sister Deborah Chappell Amos (Ronnie).
She is survived by her loving husband Jeff, brother Lindsay (Susan), sister-in-law Janet Fawbush Klosterboer (Larry), step-mother Bonnie Chappell, and many nieces, nephews and their spouses and children.
A celebration of Margaret’s life will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 13, at Mt. Olivet Funeral Home at 1101 Lebanon Pike in Nashville. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.
