“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith.”
True goodness cannot be cloaked. True goodness cannot be extinguished. It continues to shine
despite obstacles that get in the way.
Maria was pure goodness. She made the world a better place because she saw the good in it. She
knew goodness because she exhibited goodness by spreading warmth and love to those all
around her. She found a way to find a little bit of goodness in everyone that she met.

Born on July 17, 1963 in Monterrey Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Maria moved to Nashville 20 years
ago with her children. Maria had family residing in Nashville so she felt at home. She was an
independent sales director in Mary Kay Cosmetics in Mexico and Nashville, a highly esteemed
position in the company. Maria believed in the products she represented and gave facials to her
clients. She met her Rhinestone Cowboy, Manuel Cuevas at a wedding of a mutual friend and
married him in a surprise wedding in Nashville on January 23, 2014, the same year that Manuel
received the “Father of the Year Honoree” by the Father’s Day Council.
Maria was a wonderful mother and grandmother! She loved to travel to see her family in
Mexico. With her external and internal beauty always shining through, Maria was well known
as the “Mexican Barbie Doll”. Maria was passionate about her church, Saint Ignatius of Antioch
Church, her family, her friends and her husband’s star studded design business. She would often
be seen helping out in Manuel’s store at the corner of Broadway and 8th.
True goodness cannot be cloaked. True goodness cannot be extinguished. Maria continued
giving as an organ donor. Eight people were recipients of her amazing gift to them. Maria’s
legacy of goodness continues as one of life and giving. We salute you Maria Cuevas-Salinas
