Marian Fish Ezell, 94, was born April 4, 1932, and passed away July 5, 2026. A beloved and cherished presence to those who knew her, Marian will be remembered with deep respect and enduring gratitude for a life marked by faithful devotion, thoughtful care, and kind-hearted compassion.
Marian was an amazing seamstress, and she brought the same patience and attentiveness to her work that she offered so naturally to the people around her. She was a graduate of Lipscomb University, where she earned a business degree, and she continued to give back to the university through dedicated volunteer service. Her steady commitment was evident in her leadership as president of the Associated Ladies for Lipscomb, where her considerate spirit and willingness to serve were felt by many.
For 71 years, Marian shared a devoted marriage with her loving husband, Dr. Roy C. Ezell. Together they enjoyed traveling, especially cruises, and Marian held particular affection for places such as New York, Chicago, and Gatlinburg. She was a member of Donelson Church of Christ for 60 years. In the quiet, steadfast ways that often matter most, she also spent much of her time caring for older relatives—an expression of her compassionate heart and faithful sense of responsibility.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Alma Fish, step-mother Sarah Fish, brother Donald Winston Fish, and sister Martha Fish. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Roy C. Ezell; her daughters, Dr. Meredith Ezell and Carole Ezell; and her grandchildren, Craig (Shyann) Thomas; great-grandchildren: Marian Ruth Thomas, and LeeRoy Thomas.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to Donelson Church of Christ Youth Ministry, Lipscomb University, or Alive Hospice.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m., with a Celebration of Life to follow at 11:00 a.m., at Donelson Church of Christ, 2706 Old Lebanon Rd., Nashville, TN 37215.
