I did not know of Sister Vianney's passing until now..I almost scrolled past a post and would have missed it! There are NO coincidences with God when He knows it would be important to one to learn this and it truly is. I was an 8th grade student of hers at St. Paul's. One day I took my children to the mother house in Nashville. I could barely believe it when she greeted us at the big door! I recognized her beautiful blue eyes, immediately!   She hugged me warmly and invited us in..we chatted, and then later took us into the beautiful church and prayed for us and with us before the Blessed Sacrament! I am astounded that God allowed me to see this so that I would know and pray even more with our new advocate in Heaven! PS To her family..she mentioned all of you..and let me tell you, she lived and prayed for all of her family! :) Eternal rest, dear Sister Vianney, and please continue to pray for my entire family and thank you for your picture of Jesus you did..it will be something I will treasure and pass on.

We are so sorry to hear Sr. Vianney's death. she was one of my good friends with whom I worked many art projects at St. Paul's School in Memphis. May she rest in peace.

I'm lucky to have a print of one of Sister Vianney's paintings hanging in my home.  It's titled "Like Us In Joy" and she even signed the print for me. My mother got for me at one of Sister's art showings years ago. I was able to track her down several years ago and called her, we had a very nice long talk, will always remember that. May she be at rest in God's hands. We will always love you Sister Vianney and will look at your painting with fond memories at St. Paul's.

To all of the Family of Sister's., Both Dominican Sisters and Relatives, I send my deep heartfelt condolences. I have loved her since she was my 2nd grade teacher, at St. Thomas School (in 1958-59). She taught my brothers (Alfonso Family) and my children at St. Paul.  She has been a dear teacher and friend I CHERISHED!  I know she is Finally seeing her Beloved JESUS Face to face, and only in that, does my heart get relief from the grief I feel in my heart and soul.  She has, and will continue, to walk with me, in the lessons and influences she gave me, that are such a major part of my life! I know she is making beautiful music in heaven with my sister who passed away in June 2013. She was organist at St. Paul's Catholic Church and I remember Sister played the violin. They finally get to play together. Her name was Dorothy Jean Owens, may they both rest in peace.

Sister Vianney, was kind, compassionate and understanding. She always did the work of God. Sister counciled, taugh and guided me through a very tramatic period in my life. She has had a lasting impact on the person I am today. She was an inspiring art teacher and educator.

I'm very sad to read of her passing but of course she would want us all to be happy for her to be in her final Light.  I have treasured memories of only a brief time with her but even more than that, I know that she will be missed deeply, particulary by my mother.  Our hearts are with you, Sr. Vianney.... please rest in the Great Peace that you so gently nurtured through your life.

Sister Vianney, will forever hold a place in my heart. She was patient, kind and loving to an awkward 8th grade girl. She made me her morning helper before scool that made such an impact on my life. She was an inspiration. She is a main reason that, I am an art teacher now. My prayers and condolences to her family.

She was a faithful servant of our Lord, and a memorable teacher of virtue. Many of us are grateful for her lessons, especially of forgiveness.
