Marilyn Whitaker

On December 13, 2025, Marilyn Lucille Armstrong Whitaker passed away at age 96. Marilyn had been residing at Maple Cottage Memory Care in Hendersonville, TN. Marilyn was born on October 5th in Belleville, TN to James and Elsie Armstrong. Marilyn was married to the love of her life, Roy (Jack) Whitaker and raised two daughters in Nashville, TN. Marilyn and Jack were married for 70 years until his death.

Marilyn was a faithful church member of Woodbine Methodist Church. She was a member of the Friendship Class, and Ruth-Abigal Circle. Marilyn was a devoted Christian Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She had many relatives and friends whom she loved dearly.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, three sisters, a brother, and son-in-law. She is survived by Deborah Johnson, Jackie McCormick (Don), LeighAnn Chadwell (Gordon), Allyson Johnson (Daniel), Coston Perry (Amanda), and Michael Johnson (Ashley). There are seven great grandchildren, namely, Hannah, Mason, Gracie, Lillian, Vivian, Caleb, and Reed. There are several nieces and nephews.
