Marita O'Grady Hardesty (Dee)

Nashville-Passed away peacefully November 30, 2018. She was born in Hoboken, New Jersey.

Preceded in death by husband, Paul F. Hardesty, son, Bert F. Hardesty. Survived by children, Mary Bacilieri (Riky), Marita Mason (Bob), Ben Hardesty (Barbara), Kitty Merchant (Brian), many granddaughters, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Dee was known for her creative, artistic talents. She was a member of the Nashville Calligraphy Guild for 48 years. Early in her membership with the guild, she served as president and secretary. She received numerous awards and recognitions.

Dee was an active member of Saint Henry Catholic parish. She was famous for her baby blankets she crocheted alongside the Stitch and Share ladies.

Dee was a worldwide traveler and enjoyed experiencing new adventures any chance she could. Her favorite summers were spent with her family at the ocean in Long Beach, New York. She could be found in the Smoky Mountains every fall.

Some of her favorite memories were made over holidays and home cooked meals at the Hardesty home.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 am, Tuesday, December 4th at Saint Henry Catholic Church. Visitation will be 4-6 pm Monday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Marymount Scholarship Fund campmarymount.com

I have to say that Dee was a kind loving generous and wise person who I would do anything for, I was able to do for her all the things I was not able to do for my own mother Jean who was equally kind loving and generous.
Love you both always...
