Born August 1, 1925 to the late Roy and Ruth Cater, he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Henrietta Carter; daughter, Donna Carter; grandson, Kevin Burley; brother, Donald Carter and son-in-law Richard Burley.
Mr. Carter is survived by his daughter, Judith “Judi” Burley; grandson, Scott (Jenn) Burley; granddaughter, Courtney (Erick) Tapia; great-grandchildren, Emily, Liz, Kevin, Drew, Austin and Hayden; Niece, Debbie Grant.
A true Nashvillian, Mr. Carter was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church Nashville and a retiree of Tennessee Sheet Metal with over 50 years of service. He was a Naval Veteran serving during WWII. He enjoyed camping, loved his family and was thankful for many things in his life.
Gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021 from 5-8pm at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
Celebration of life services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 11am in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
