Martha Ann Earthman Hudson

HUDSON, Martha Ann Earthman- Age 91, died November 9, 2011. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. William W. and Martha L. Earthman. Mrs. Hudson is survived by her daughter, Martha Earthman-Fleming of St. Louis, MO., brother, William W Earthman, Jr.; grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Earthman Fleming and Grace Talley Fleming. She is also survived by her nephews, William W. Earthman III (Sandra), Webb Johnston Earthman (Katherine), Daniel Scott Earthman (Robyn) and their families; and Pudgie III. Mrs. Hudson graduated from Ward Belmont and Vanderbilt University in 1942. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta, Daughters of the American Revolution, and St George’s Episcopal Church. She served as a docent at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens, as well as a board member of the West End Home for Ladies. Mrs. Hudson worked for many years in the Department of Revenue, State of Tennessee. She was a member of Centennial Club, where she pursued her passion for bridge. Mrs. Hudson lived at Blakeford in Green Hills since 1997, and has resided in Woodcrest for the last four years. The family would like to express its deepest gratitude to not only the caregivers, but to all those at Blakeford who enriched her life throughout the years. Thanks to Lisa Aston for the many hours she spent as a volunteer, and to Kathy Mitchell, APRN-BC, for her loving care. Additional thanks to both Alive and Odyssey Hospice for their care. A memorial service will be held in the Blakeford Independent Living Multi-Purpose room on Friday, November 11 at 4:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Spring Hill Cemetery.
