Martha McIntyre Baldridge peacefully passed away at the age of 88 on the 26th of September 2014.
She was born on the 9th of September 1926 in Nashville to the late Thomas Miller McIntyre and Thelma Thompson McIntyre.
She was also predeceased by her sister, Jean McIntyre Boyd.
She grew up in Nashville, graduating from Peabody Demonstration School, Ward-Belmont and Vanderbilt University. She married Thomas Eugene Baldridge in 1948 and together they successfully ran the Tom Baldridge's Sportsman Stores. He preceded her in death in 1997 after 49 wonderful years of marriage.
She was also very active in her community: Fannie Battle Day Home, James K. Polk Society, Centennial Club, and was a devoted 3rd generation member of First Baptist Church Nashville where she worshiped all her life.
She is survived by her son, Thomas McIntyre Baldridge; three grandchildren, Kathryn Miller Baldridge, Thomas McIntyre Baldridge, Jr., and Susan Baldridge Schroder (Jay); as well as her three great-grandchildren, Mason M. Baldridge, Jackson D. Simmons, Emma E. Schroder.
Family will receive friends for a time of visitation and remembrance between twelve o'clock and one o'clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, the 30th of September 2014, with a graveside service to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park at one o'clock with Rev. Richard G. Waggener officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to the Bicentennial Fund at First Baptist Church Nashville, 108 7th Ave. South, Nashville, TN 37203.
