Martha Thompson Miller. An inspirational life well lived. If you knew Martha Thompson Miller, then you know the great sorrow and emptiness felt by her family and friends upon her passing, Thursday, October 29th, 2015. Born July 3, 1941, and raised in McEwen, Tennessee.
Martha was the Secretary of Christ the King Catholic Church for 25 years and later was the caregiver for former Pastor Monsignor Dan S. Richardson. For 15 years, Martha was also a successful real estate agent for Crye-Leike Realtors.
In devotion to her Catholic faith and community, she was a Eucharistic Minister serving the Nashville Diocese and a former Chairman of the Council of St. Mary Church of the Seven Sorrows. Martha also thoroughly enjoyed her membership in the Tennessee Society Daughters of the American Revolution and volunteered her time serving many as Tennessee State Regent and various other offices.
Dearest to her heart and the source of great pride were her three sons, Kerry, Jim and Tony. Martha loved, guided, protected and provided for her sons and was proud to call her sons great husbands to their wives and loving and devoted fathers to her grandchildren.
Martha was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lorene Holloran Thompson, her father, Joseph Henry Thompson, and brother Jerry Thompson.
Martha is survived by her sons Kerry Miller, Jim Miller (Lisa) and Tony Miller (Kim), sisters Deanna Adams (Jerry), Veronica Frazier, brother Pat Thompson (Rita), grandchildren Paul Miller, Leah Miller (Mathieu), Emily Schmid (Tim), Ryne Miller, Anna Miller, Lindsay Miller and Matt Miller and her first great grandchild on the way.
“Ma’am we love you beyond words and promise to carry you in our hearts each and every day”
Martha cooked many delicious meals, hosted many wonderful gatherings and holiday celebrations at her home. Let the celebration continue in honor of her life and her legacy!
