Martha York Richarson

Martha Richardson age 91, passed away on Friday April 3, 2026. She was born May 23, 1934 in Glasgow, KY to the late Dr. Paul and Jenny York. She was one of four children Mary Nunn, Paul York and the late Sam York.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years James Buist Richardson III, her son and daughter-in-law Buist and Mary Richardson. Martha leaves behind four grandchildren Reed Richardson, Fort (Gina) Richardson, Rachel Richardson and Zach (Mary Kate) Richardson and a host of nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.

Martha graduated from Vanderbilt University. She was an avid tennis player, loved competing with friends at Bridge and always enjoyed spending time at the Centennial Club.

The funeral services will be held at St. George’s Episcopal Church on Friday April 17th with a visitation from 10:30–11:30 and the service to begin at 11:30.
