Martha Virginia “Nanny” Thorn, age 90 passed on December 17, 2015 at her home. Preceded in death by her husband, Thurston “Red” Thorn; parents, Floyd John Tinsley and Roxie Hutcheson Tinsley, three sisters and four brothers. Survived by two sons, Ernest Paul (Aliza) Brady and Steve Wayne (Phyllis) Brady; stepson Roger (Barbara) Thorn; seven grandchildren, Christy Yvonne Brady, Gregory Shane Brady, Melissa Lyle Williams, Stephanie Lyle Smith, Shannon Lyle Britt; twenty one great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Formerly of Columbia, Tennessee and worked in Nashville for Avco, a majority of her life. She was a member of the Church of Christ and in her spare time she loved to bowl, fish and gamble, “Slots of Fun.” Celebration of Life Service will be on Monday, December 21, 2015 at two thirty in the afternoon, Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall. Gathering of family and friends on Sunday from four o’clock until eight o’clock, and Monday from twelve o’clock until the service at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
