Marvin Edwards Clements

Marvin Edwards Clements died August 4, 2026, peacefully at home surrounded by his family in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 81. He is preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Patricia Martin Clements.

Marvin is survived by sons Marvin Edwards Clements, Jr. (Mary), of Nashville, Tennessee, Scott Martin Clements of Houston, Texas and grandchildren Catherine Clements, of Austin, Texas, Patrick Clements and Christina Clements of Nashville, Tiffany Fernandez (Anthony), Kelsey Reeves (Zach) and Kaylee Clements of Houston, Texas as well as Great Grandchildren, Mason Fernandez, Melody McCarty, Charlie Parker, Skylar Reeves, Hunter Taylor, Ezra Speed and Emory Reeves of Houston. He is preceded in death by his parents, Evans M. and Jane E. Clements, his brother, Evans Moore Clements and his sister Jane Clements McMackin.

Marvin was born on February 21, 1945, in Nashville, Tennessee and was the grandson of C.R. Clements, one of the original founders of the National Life and Accident Insurance Company. Although he attended several high schools, he graduated from Hillsboro High School in Nashville. He married Patricia Martin in 1966 and later moved to Orlando, Florida where Marvin opened a business with his brother Evans. During his time in Florida, he worked as a mechanic and opened an auto parts store, while also attending the University of Central Florida, where he graduated with a B.A. degree in Accounting.

Upon moving back to Nashville in 1976, Marvin briefly worked for the State of Tennessee, and later began working with E.J. Allen at his accounting firm, where Marvin eventually took over the accounting practice. After many years he sold the practice and retired to work part time at his “farm”, where, at Patricia’s “request”, he returned to work part time for HR Block and Wallace and Associates for several years.

Marvin enjoyed watching NASCAR, drag racing, football and golf, and was an expert at acrostic puzzles. He delighted in adventures with his wife, traveling, partying and building their dream home in Leipers Fork. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially during one of the many bonfires or Christmas and pool parties that they hosted. He was a long time attendee of the Daytona 500 with his buddy Mike (Bob) Renner until they banned smoking at the speedway.

A funeral is scheduled for 11:00 Friday, August 28 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Franklin, Tennessee, with a visitation at 10:00 before the funeral mass. Graveside services will be at Mt. Olivet cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marvin’s life.
