Mary Allen Bynum, born in Nashville, November 20, 1929, passed away January 28, 2015. Preceded in death by parents Robert L. Bynum, Jr. and Dorothy Fuqua Niles; survived by brother, John Russell Niles, Jr. After graduating West End High School in 1947, Mary worked for National Life and Accident Insurance Co. In 1953 she joined the United States Navy and received an honorable discharge in 1957. In 1958 Mary began her career at Baird Ward Printing Co. and became Manager of the Purchasing Department, retiring in 1993. Mary was a lifelong supporter of Vanderbilt basketball. She enjoyed her pets, her friends, and sports of all kinds, especially golf. She was a member of The Cathedral of the Incarnation and Harpeth Hills Ladies Golf Association. Graveside Services will be conducted by Father Dexter Brewer at Mt. Olivet Cemetery on Saturday January 31st at twelve o’clock. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nashville Humane Association.
