

Mary Carleen Carini was born at home on May 9, 1932 in Lynnwood, Pennsylvania (Belle Vernon). She later lived in Clarksburg, West Virginia before moving with her mother to Smyrna, Tennessee in 1992 to be near her nieces and nephews.
Mary graduated from Catholic grade school and high school. She then graduated from West Virginia Business College and worked for Monongahela Power for forty years. She was a catechist in the Catholic Church for several decades, sponsoring many people as they entered the Church or were confirmed. She served on numerous committees and devoted herself to sharing her faith with others. She was a storyteller and loved a good joke. She also loved children and shared many special memories with special friends and her neighbors, the Nobiles and the Skinners. She died on March 3, 2021.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Carini and Luella Zentz Carini, as well as her brother, Dick Carini. She is survived by her brother, Jim Carini, her nephews, Marc Carini, Eric (Rita) Carini, and Kevin (Lisa) Carini, her nieces, Donna Carini, Leigh Ann (Ray) Dalton, her great nephews and nieces, Sammy Carini, Jill Carini, Nick Carini, Ericka Carini, Erin (Michael) Karb, Lauren Carini, Kevin (Marissa)Carini, Megan Dalton, Ryan (Lauren) Dalton, Devan (Eric) Bryant, Dustin McArthur, and numerous great-great nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held at St. Ignatius of Antioch Catholic Community from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 9. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow. Pallbearers are Eric Carini, Kevin F. Carini, Kevin R. Carini, Marc Carini, Sammy Carini, and Nick Carini. Honorary Pallbearers are her Friday card group, Mary Jane Brunner, Mary Lou Lally, Shannon Spiller, and Rae Wannebo, as well as her fellow Associates of the Community of Divine Providence.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Ignatius of Antioch adult formation and RCIA ministry (St. Ignatius of Antioch, 601 Bell Road, Antioch, TN 37013).
