Mary M. Cooper, age 89, passed away on October 15, 2026. She was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on August 1, 1937, to Julian and Miriam Kemp. She graduated from Central High School and married the love of her life, William J. “Bill” Cooper, on December 15, 1954.
Mary had a passion for decorating and cooking and found joy in creating a warm and welcoming home for her family. She will be remembered with love by those who knew her and cherished the time they shared with her.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Miriam Kemp; her beloved husband, William J. “Bill” Cooper; and her brother, Albert Kemp.
She is survived by her son, Jody Cooper (Annette); her grandchildren, Amanda Whitman (Michael) and Will Cooper (Tora); her great-grandchildren, Harper Whitman and Bailey Whitman; her sister, Carolyn Trest; her nephew, Aaron (Cheryl) Dugger; and her niece, Lauren (John) O’Hamlin.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, Tennessee 37204.
