Mary Teresa Luckett

Mary Teresa (Baltz) Luckett was born in Nashville, TN on September 8th, 1926 to John Phillip Baltz and Annetta Odelia Ross. She was a devout Catholic, wife, mother, daughter, sister. She grew up in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Community in Nashville where her family was very active. She attended St. Mary’s College in South Bend, Indiana and graduated from Sienna Catholic Women’s College in Memphis Tennessee in 1948 holding the position of Class secretary and prettiest girl in the class. Mary met and married the love of her life, John Richard Luckett. She is preceded in death by her husband “Dick”, her brother Reverend John Baltz, her brother Robert Baltz, and her brother Bill Baltz.

Her children know what a tremendous woman she was and are very proud of what she accomplished. She was mother to 8 children, 29 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. After Dick’s untimely death in 1971, Mary went back to school to become a registered nurse and received her Master’s degree in Social Work.

She is survived by her children Steven Charles Luckett, Mary Ann Luckett-Schiavoni (Jim), John Richard Luckett Jr. (Becky), Lauretta Joanne DeMille (Mark), William Thomas Luckett, Annetta (Neene) Stone (Steve), Theresa Marie Burdge (Kevin), Barbara Agnes Shahan (Bruce), and her brother Edward Baltz.

The family will always treasure the special times and memories with “Gran”.

Visitation will be held on Monday June 8th at Christ the King Church in Nashville from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the recitation of the rosary at 7:30 p.m.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ the King Church on Tuesday June 9th at 10:00 a.m.
