

Proceeded in death by her grandmother, Catharine Ebrenez Hicks, mother, Mary Hicks Proctor, sister Catherine Proctor Grose and husband, William S. O’Neil.
Mary was a lifelong educator and particularly enjoyed teaching children to read. She also experienced a lucrative career as a realtor serving as the Managing Broker for the conversion of Royal Oaks Towers and Windsor Towers. Many stylish local moms will also remember her from the years she and her husband operated Mary-Mary Maternity on Bandywood
One of her favorite charities was Operation StandDown (serving veterans) and baked cookies monthly for their outreach center She was a founding member of St. Henry parish, member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and a lifetime member of the Cumberland Chapter of the DAR
She loved visiting Nashville sites, daytrips and trying new restaurants with her friends from 50 Forward/The Turner Center on the bus she donated.
Mary is survived by her daughter Catherine Wise, Son-in-Law David Wise, Grandson Shane Wise, grand-children Jesse & Jordan Wise and special grand-daughter-in-law Wendy Smith Wise
Jeff Hooven, Lance Wise, Jesse Wise, Hatcher Hooven, Matt Poe, Drew Scales and Brian Smith will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers- The staff and soldiers of Operation StandDown
Visitation will be on Tuesday April 29, 2025, from 10:00-11:00 AM with Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 AM at St Henry Catholic Church.
