Mettie C. Fowler, 79, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026. Born on May 20, 1946, in Lafayette, Tennessee, Mettie lived a full and vibrant life surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Jerry L. Fowler; her daughter, Kimberly Saldivar; and her son-in-law, Oscar Saldivar. Mettie was a proud grandmother to Wade Pearson, Sean Tyree, Allison Tyree, and Sam Tyree. She also cherished her role as a great-grandmother to Adriane Tyree and Lukas Paulson. She was preceded in death by her mother, Verdie Smith, and her beloved daughter Angela Tyree.
Mettie found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending time at the beach, where the sound of the waves brought her peace and happiness. Shopping was another favorite pastime that allowed her to express her unique style and creativity.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May her legacy bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to share in her life.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with funeral services beginning at 2:00 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN 37204.
