Green, Michael Dee – Age 70, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2021 surrounded by loved ones in Nashville, TN after a courageous battle with cancer. Michael was born on September 21, 1950 to the late Elzy D. Green and Martha Burns. A native of South Nashville, he attended Antioch High School and served in the National Guard for four years. As a young man, Michael had a passion for cars. He began his career in the car business with Chapman Ford in 1972. Seven years later, he founded Michael’s Motor Company which is still in operation today. His business brought him much joy and he loved going to work each day. Michael met so many people throughout the car business and he was very fortunate to call so many of those folks his friends. He was also an avid lover of auto racing and spent 15 years racing at the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. He lived life to the fullest, enjoyed a good joke, and truly loved helping others. He was a dear friend to many. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Judy Cobb Green. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Rose Mary Green, daughter, Karen Cohen (Rob), son, Doug Harris (Susan), grandchildren, Shelby Warren (Michael), Tyler Harris, Michael Warren Cohen, sister, Patty Russell of Ponce Inlet, FL, friends at Michael’s Motor Company and his beloved bulldog Jake. A visitation will be held at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, March 26, 2021, from 3-8, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alive Hospice and the Nashville Humane Society.

Mike was my very special friend since I was seven years old and he was five. When we were kids, he was like the little brother I never had. Even though I moved away from Nashville almost 50 years ago, neither distance nor life changes could break the bonds of the friendship of our youth. I will truly miss him!
My sympathy to Rosemary, Karen and the rest of the family and to all of his friends.

Pep and I didn't have a chance to get to know Mike very well but on the few occasions when we met he was so very kind and gracious. His legacy of kindness and generosity will live on and shine brightly thru his lovely daughter, Karen, and the other members of his family. Rest in peace, brother Mike. We'll see you on the other side.
