Michael Anthony Nolan was born January 3, 1952 in Nashville, Tennessee and died on Friday, July 20, 2018 in Knoxville, due to a massive stroke. Mike was preceded in death by his father Francis V. Nolan and his sister Beth Nolan. Mike attended Christ the King School and graduated from Father Ryan High School in 1970. He went on to University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he received his undergraduate degree and graduated UT School of Law and started his practice in Knoxville. Mike was a determined and dedicated attorney. He saw his law degree as a way to help and uplift a person in need. His support of UT football never ceased and he was a loyal fan. One of Mike's favorite activities was to spend time with his family and friends in both Knoxville and Nashville. He could be found at a football game, at dinner or a hike in the mountains. I met Mike during my sophmore year at UT when he was my RA on the 4th floor of Morrill Hall. I was struck by how friendly he was and always ready to listen to students problems and offer advice. I ran into Mike in the gym a few years ago for the first time in many years. It was really good to see him but unfortunately we didnt stay in touch. I regret I didnt make more of an effort. I am saddened by Mike's passing and have great memories of him. My sincere condolences to the Nolan family.

I am very sorry to hear of this loss. I have so many wonderful memories of Mike: hiking, camping, road trip to California in the late 70s, and many great times at the 5th Ave house. I learned so much from Mike, and I was blessed to know him. He was truly a beautiful soul. Sending my love to all his family, he will be sorely missed.
