

She was born on January 13, 1924 to the late Leonard Kindred and Mae Erwin Kindred. She is also preceded in death by her late husband, Oakley Andrew Scott; husband, Lowry Thomas Bright, and many beloved siblings.
Ms. Mildred is survived by her two children, Joyce Sharpe and James Scott; grandchildren, Scottie (Diana) Sharpe; Jonathan, Jason, and Jeremy; and great grandchildren, Destiny, Nimh, Samson, George, and Kali, Electra, Julia, Abby, and Henry, and her many nieces and nephews.
Besides her love for her family and friends, Ms. Bright was a dedicated nurse. She first started studying nursing at Baroness Erlanger school of Nursing where she later decided to join the Cadets Nurses Corp. Once she had graduated she began working at Baroness Erlanger. She also worked at Miller and Donelson Hospital and later relocated to Clover Bottom. Ms.Bright was also a nurse at the Lipscomb College Student Health Center. Mildred was a member of Green Street Church of Christ and a faith member of the order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from two-thirty until three-thirty on the afternoon of Saturday December 28, 2019 at Woodlawn’s Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. Following the visitation will be a Celebration of Life in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall, burial will follow in Woodlawn Mausoleum.
