Nancy Mildred Nunley Gardner passed away in Nashville, TN on September 26, 2018. She is preceded in death by parents, William and Iva Nunley; husband, Fred Gardner; son-in-law, Andrew Britton Gardner; and siblings, Edith Vaughn, Dorothy Thoni, Charles Nunley, Edgar Nunley, Alvin Nunley, and Joyce Nixon.
She is survived by daughters, Freda Gardner Fuller (Bob); Lori Crawford (John), and Lisa Kolbe (Kevin); grandchildren, Andrew Duncan Gasson-Gardner (Lisa), Alexander Britton Gardner (Madeline), Brandon Alexander Kolbe, Ashland Elisabeth Kolbe, and Joshua Elias Kolbe; great-grandchildren, Luna Rae Gardner, Clementine Ann Gardner, and Amos Walter Gasson-Gardner; siblings, Bert Montgomery, Polly Kirby, and Dudley Nunley; numerous nieces and nephews; and special niece and nephew, Rachel Leigh Wotring and Matthew Willis Wotring.
Nancy was a longtime member of West End Church of Christ where she led a sewing ministry where she made teddy bears, gowns, hats, and grief packs for the NICU at Vanderbilt. She also taught pre-school at West End Church of Christ for over 20 years. She will especially be remembered for her famous yeast rolls.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at West End Church of Christ Community Room 3534 W End Ave, Nashville, TN 37205 . Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at 2 p.m. with a one hour visitation prior to service at the church. Private interment will be held following the service.
