Nellie D. Wims

Nellie Dee Wims 99, of Nashville, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Trevecca Center. Nellie was born on May 7, 1920 in Wilson County, TN, the daughter of Emitt Robbins and Della Mae Campbell. She married Thomas J. Wims, and he precedes her in death. Also preceding her in death are her parents; step-father, Kelly Swift; and one daughter, Marilyn L. Wims. Surviving are three daughters, Tommie (Eddie) Phillips, Janice (Charles) Hines, and Cathey (Jere) Shelton; one son, Terry (Margene) Wims; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Nellie was a happy, caring, and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was sensitive to others needs, and she loved to make others smile and laugh whenever she could. Nellie truly never met a stranger, and became a life-long friend to many. She loved and was so proud of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She will be truly missed by all those who were blessed to know her and spend time with her. A gathering of family and friends will be on Friday, July 5th, 2019 from three o'clock in the afternoon until seven o'clock in the evening at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at ten o'clock in the morning on Saturday, July 6th, 2019 at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. The family requests that dress be casual for the gathering and graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nellie's honor to St. Jude's.

I remember spending time at Sherry’s house and Granny Wims being there for a family gathering and her always being so kind to me and treating me just like one of her grandchildren.. what a beautiful, kind lady with a beautiful heart.. so many wonderful memories 💖 the entire family are in my thoughts and prayers.. love Nickie
