Nikolay V. Kaverin, M.D. Ph.D., professor and a full member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, passed away in Nashville on February 15, 2014. The 80-old academician was one of the most prominent Russian virologists. As a laboratory head at the Ivanovsky Institute of Virology in Moscow, Russia, Dr. Kaverin has significantly contributed to the scientific knowledge of influenza virus biology and to flu prevention in Russia. He is survived by his loving wife Natalia, three daughters and seven grandchildren."
Graveside services will be held at noon, Tuesday, February 19, 2014 from Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to service time.
