Nora Mai (Harper) Odom 88, passed away on January 25, 2020 after a long four plus year battle with Alzheimer's disease. The greatest irony in her life, after serving others all her life, was to be doomed to the ravages and indignities that made her completely dependent on others. In spite of her condition, she struggled to keep her dignity and she maintained a beautiful smile for everyone. Nora put her family ahead of all things and was a kind and considerate, pragmatic and forthright in her dealings with family and other persons during her life. Born April 14, 1931 in Triune Tennessee during the Great Depression, to all the hardships it had to offer and witness to the loss of her cousin in a World War II Navy Battle, this simple farm girl always saw life as a great struggle. Nora lost her husband Bill Odom, youngest child Billy Odom and grand child Christopher Odom before sub-coming to the ravages of Alzheimer's disease. She is survived by her daughter Sherian Reynolds, and three sons James Michael "Mike" Reynolds and his wife Brooksie Reynolds, Jerry Odom (Grandson Jeremy Odom, wife Misty (Drake), great grandchildren Jordon, Lee, Jody, Jesse, and Tristan, Terry Odom (Wife Billie Odom, grandchildren Haley Alexis Odom, Kaitlyn Taylor Odom); and daughter in law April Odom. She was preceded in death by her husband William Golden Odom (Bill) and her youngest son William Golden Odom Jr. (Little Bill), and her grandchild Christopher Odom, son of Terry and Billie Odom.
There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Thursday Jan 30 from two o'clock until four o'clock pm and from six o'clock until eight o'clock pm and again on Friday Jan 31 from ten thirty am until eleven thirty am with a Celebration of Life service at eleven thirty am in Woodlawn's Dignity Hall.
