Over 40 years ago as an appointed political Commissioner secy I was chastised for visiting at times with a new friend in a windowless file room. Thus began our friendship. Over the years we would catch up on new events and share old memories. By now, she had become the most important woman in TN government as the Executive Assistant to the longest serving Lt.Governor in USA history. She took me to her beloved Celina hometown. She invited me into her home. She said she was proud of me becoming a court reporter because that is how Maxine treats a friend. Like a treasure. But it is really that Maxine is the treasure and I will always treasure your friendship.
I will see you someday again, Dear.

Maxine you were such an a great help to me when I served as Executife Director for the TN. Home Health Association. We had so much fun and so many great visits. You also were responsible for allowing Danielle to be an aid to Lt. Gov. Wilder. You will be missed by many, but your Memory will be in our hearts forever. Maxi had the patience of Job. You could count on her for a laugh or two. She shined among friends and her star is shining bright in Heaven now.

As a scriptwriter and cast member of the erstwhile Nashville Gridiron Show, I always looked forward to seeing Maxine Roberts.

Maxine was a big supporter of the show,an annual benefit for the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ), and it was always fun to see her backstage or encouraging us from the audience.

One of the "big names" whom we spoofed, Maxine was not only a good sport about it- she seemed to genuinely enjoy the "honor."

I hadn't seen Maxine but a time or two since the show disbanded but I know that she will be missed by all of us whose lives she touched.
