Olene C. Patterson

Olene Creacy Patterson, age 95, was born January 22, 1920, in Metcalf County, Kentucky. She departed from this life on October 31, 2015, in Brentwood, Tennessee. Olene was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother who adored her family and was equally adored by them. She is preceded in death by her sweet husband of 67 years, John Swanson Patterson, her parents, Roy & Ova Smith Creacy, brothers, Beford Creacy, Darrell Creacy, Gradis Creacy, Chester Creacy, sister Elise Creacy, and great-granddaughter Grace Leigh Wells. She is survived by her loving daugther & son-in-law, Sheila & Gary Clark with whom she lived her last happy years, granddaughters Melissa Clark Fraser and husband Stuart & Kimberly Clark Wells and husband Kevin, great-grandchildren Camille & Clark Fraser, and Connor & Colton Wells. Olene was a faithful child of God, baptized in her teen years at Crescent Church of Christ in Christiana, Tennessee. She was a beloved member of Harpeth Hills Church of Christ in Brentwood. Olene spent her career with Cain Sloan/Dillard's department store where she was an award-winning outstanding employee who held many positions over her 40-year tenure. She was accomplished in every form of needlework from beautiful clothing to exquisite framed works of art. She had a green-thumb, nurturing gorgeous flower gardens that were admired by neighbors and friends. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, Nov. 3 at Woodlawn Funeral Home on Thompson Lane from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00p.m. The Celebration of Life Service will be 1:00 p.m. also at Woodlawn. Memorial contributions may be made to Hy-Lake Christian Camp and AGAPE.
