Oliver Phillips, age 81, passed away on February 15, 2014. He is preceded in death by his father, John M. Phillips; mother, Virginia Watts Phillips; brother, Robert Phillips; sisters, Alta Martin, Thursie Templeton, Ruby Dyer, and Carneal Phillips. Survived by his wife, Wylene Irwin Phillips; daughter, Labrina Wylene Phillips; brother, Henry Phillips; sisters, Ruth Grogan and Faye Hill; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Oliver was a member of Andrew Price Memorial United Methodist Church. Active Pallbearers will be his nephews and future son-in-law, Shane Stevens. Visitation will be held from eleven until eight o’clock in the evening on Tuesday, the 18th of February, 2014 at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at two thirty in the afternoon on Wednesday, the 19th of February, in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with visitation held from eleven o’clock until service time. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family requests that any memorial contributions be sent to Andrew Price Memorial United Methodist Church.
