
Born during World War I on May 4, 1917 in an adobe lean-to dug out in New Mexico, he was the son of homesteaders Gertrude and Leroy McKeehen. After coming to Nashville in the late 1930’s he met and married his wife of 72 years, Frances Stark McKeehen, who proceeded him in death in April, 2013. He served in Patton’s Army in France, Germany and the Pacific during WW II. He grew up in a leather and harness shop. For over 20 years he sold his handcrafted belts and buckles at World Trade Shows after retiring from printing. A kind and gentle man with a strong Christian faith, he was loved by all who came in contact with him.
Two devoted children, a daughter Sharon McKeehen-Bounds and a son Michael Edward McKeehen (Sherry Clem), three grandchildren Brandon McKeehen, Candice McKeehen and Dawn LeAnne McKeehen Taylor (Brad), two step grandchildren, Clint Living and Mollie Living, six great grandchildren and extended family Yvonne Kelani, Angelina, Edgar, Jeffrey, Jesse and Christopher Perez survive him.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Home Based Primary Care Program, Nashville VA Campus and especially Dr. Barbara Snook, Erica Fuller, NP, Sherry Melton, RN and Dr. Susan Marvin for gifting him with a quality of life that would not have otherwise been possible.
Visitation with the family will be from 12:30 – 2:30pm on Monday, November 30, 2015 prior to the service conducted by Rev. Mark Bryan at 2:30pm at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
Pallbearers: Will Matthews, Jack Hailey, Buzz McBroom, Larry McDougal, Sean Shockey and Hugh Travis. Honorary Pallbearers: Jim Liles, John Grayson, George Hailey and the elders of Glen Leven Presbyterian Church.
