Patricia Joyce Binkley of Brentwood, TN., passed away on April 1, 2024 surrounded by her family and friends at Maury County Regional Hospital in Columbia, TN. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Mildred Lucille Edgin Joyce. She is survived by her husband of 43.5 years, Bayron E. Binkley, Jr. and sons, David, Chris (Lauren), and Dale (Allison) Binkley. Additional to the survivors Rebecca Pack (Rolland) Joanna Sikes (Geoffrey) and Geneva Wright) Dana and her beloved Grandchildren, Beau, Rowan, Burton, Ryan, and Banks Binkley. She loved and cherished all her nieces and nephews and their children. She is also survived by numerous cousins who she had close relationships located from Middle Tennessee and across the entire Country.
Patricia was a 1976 Graduate of Fieldale-Collinsville High School in Collinsville, Virginia. A 1980 Graduate of David Lipscomb College now known as Lipscomb University in Nashville. While in College she was very active in her Sorority (social club) where she later served as President and was elected a Cheerleader for all four years while in college. Patricia met her husband, Bayron while at Lipscomb. After completing her student teaching requirements at Madison High School, she began her career in Education by teaching Biology and science at Ezell Harding High School, where she coached Middle School Girls Basketball. After a short pause from Ezell, she began teaching PE and later 7th Grade Science at David Lipscomb. She also coached Cross Country and Cheerleaders until her retirement.
Patricia was a caring and dedicated Educator and Coach and LOVED all her students. Went out of her way at times anonymously helping people who really needed someone to care. She gave of herself and her pocketbook to many causes around Church, the community, and her school. She was one you could count on to step up and do the job others may not have wanted. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was Aunt Termite to her nephews and Nieces. She was voted Teacher of the year in 1996 at David Lipscomb Middle School. Over the years, she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School classes. Patricia and Bayron were officers in the Mustang Booster Club while becoming the Booster Club’s Co-Presidents. The A-1 Top Dog Dinner Club.
As the mom of three sons who were heavily involved in Athletics, she took and immediate interest in everything sports. Most notably, soccer, baseball, basketball, and famously football. Football being her favorite at David Lipscomb High School. She loved Vanderbilt Football, basketball, and baseball. Many of her friends thought she was a jinx to Vanderbilt Athletics. Her neighbors and good friends asked her NOT to watch the game on Television. They all knew that she was the bad omen for Vanderbilt. She loved going to cheer camp and Church camp and spending time on the beach and pool in Panama City Beach Florida.

There will be Visitation with Family & Friends on Saturday April 6, 2024 from the hours of 9am til 12 noon at the Church of Christ in Green Hills 3805 Granny White Pike Nashville, TN. There will be a private burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park following the visitation.
