Patricia Corbin Shelton

Patricia “Pat” Corbin Shelton passed away April 7, 2022 at the age of 76 from complications with Lung Cancer. Pat was proceeded in death by her husband William (Bill) Shelton and survived by her sister Tappie Thornton.

Pat was born on August 11, 1946 in Oak Ridge, TN. After High School she attended the University of Alabama and received a Bachelor Degree from Peabody College of Vanderbilt. She later earned her Master’s Degree from Tennessee State University.

Most of her career was teaching at Franklin Junior High in the Franklin Special School District, Tennessee. Teaching Language Arts and Social Studies in grades, seventh, eighth and ninth was her area of expertise.

In the mid 1980’s, Pat received the distinction of a Career Ladder 3 teacher and was chosen to serve as a Tennessee Department of Education teacher evaluator. She traveled statewide evaluating classroom teachers through the Career Ladder Program.

Pat loved dogs and was active in a program to rescue retired racing Greyhounds. For many years she adopted and lovingly cared for numerous Greyhounds at her home.

Pat was always happy to share a glass of wine with friends and her engaging personality will be missed by all.
