

Paul Revere Fay, 84, died October 29, 2014, due to complications from pneumonia. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sondra; three childre, Paul Sharp (Ana), Frank Fay (Michelle), and Miriam Patanian (John); and five grandchildren, Josh Sharp, Jake Sharp, Matthew Sharp, Jacob Patanian, and Olivia Patanian. He was preceded in death by parents Paul Revere and Rose Madenburg Fay, two sisters Patricia Folsom and Mary Butka Folsom, and daughter Kathleen McLaughlin. Born in Forest Hills, New York, Paul entered into the United States Navy and served for 21 years as a sonar technician. He served in both the Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict. He served his country with pride and loyalty, and his patriotism was constant throughout the remainder of his life. Paul was a friend of Bill W for 46 years, 2 months, and 6 days. It was his life’s passion to help others achieve sobriety “One Day at a Time.” He continued to grow and mature in his sobriety until the day he died. He was a role model to so many and surely has a front row seat now at the Big Meeting with many departed friends. Paul was dedicated to his family—he enjoyed spending time with his wife in their retirement, he looked forward to visits with his two youngest grandchildren, and enjoyed sharing family stories with all who would listen. His smile, his laughter, his jokes, and his tender heart will be forever missed by us all. Visitation will be held at Bellevue United Methodist Church, 7501 Old Harding Road, Nashville TN 37221, on Sunday, November 2, 2014, from two to four o'clock in the afternoon, immediately followed by a memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Paul's honor be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to Disabled American Veterans.
