

Born in Nashville, TN he was the eldest of three children born to the late Paul and Marjorie (LaFever) Lowery of Nashville. He was a graduate of Isaac Litton High School, where he also competed in track. He met his wife Barbara in early 1965 and they then married several months later in December. He was drafted into the Army and later sent to Vietnam where he served as a hospital medic. He and Barbara moved to LaVergne in 1971 where they reared their two daughters as God-loving individuals. He worked in the Nashville Printing industry from 1962 until 1983. He also completed a four-year degree in Ministerial Studies and History. In 1983 he was hired by Nissan Motor Manufacturing in Smyrna where he worked until retirement.
Paul spent his life deeply devoted to his wife and family. He also modeled a life in reverence to God and respect for his fellow man. During his younger years Paul enjoyed caring for his family, jogging and supporting Barbara also with her love of organized jogging and cycling events. In his free time Paul enjoyed taking care of their home and property in LaVergne. After retirement he also loved to spend his time working on the farms he and Barbara purchased in Milton, then in Sparta, TN.
Paul lived his life to the fullest, never complained about his declining health, and will be cherished by his entire family. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara (Martin) Lowery of LaVergne, daughters Jeannie Lowery and Cindy Lowery McDonald (Lon), grandchildren Kayla Lowery Young (B.J.), Madellyne Lokey, Abbagail Lokey, Amber Lokey, Lillian Lokey, and Jailynn Lokey; great-grandchildren Annabelle Grace Young, Aaliyah Gambill, Bryson Young, and Wynston Young, all of Murfreesboro; sister Sue Ellen Johnson (Sonny) of Gallatin, brother Kenneth Lowery of White House, niece Jennifer Toney (Jon) and great-niece Adrienne of Portland, niece Heather Dodson (Jamie) and great-niece Erica of Westmoreland, nephew Kirk Johnson (Christy) great-nephew Alan and great-niece Katelynn of Castalian Springs, niece Tiphane (Phil) Minnicks and great-nephews Ben and Cooper and great-niece Lucy of White House, nephew Andrew Lowery (Carrie) and great-nieces Kinslie, Kendall and great nephew Easton of Cottontown, TN.
Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at eleven thirty in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall. Gathering of family and friends on Friday from four o’clock until eight o’clock and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
