

Paula was born on May 9, 1971, to Sally and Edward Southgate in Little Rock, Arkansas.
She was an avid traveler with Aruba being one her favorites, but Rome being the place she married her love, Joe. She adored and loved her daughter, Bailey Rose. They shared a love for cats, the beach, and Reece’s peanut butter cups. Paula was a Graphic Designer at LifePoint Health for over a decade. Paula loved music and over the years, she served in the choir at both Saint Edward’s and Holy Family Catholic Church.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Laura Hunter. She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Joseph Patrick Crowell, and their daughter, Bailey Rose, as well as her sister Kerry Brown (and Mike) of Orange Beach, AL, sister Beverly Gould (and Mike) of Shelbyville, TN, brother Edward “Butch” Southgate (and Lynne) of Hillsboro, AL, Bruce Hunter of Spring Hill, FL, Beth Meece (and Cal)of Nashville, TN, her mother-in-law, Joanne McRedmond Crowell, Nashville, TN, brother-in-law, Jeff Crowell (and Terri) of Overland Park, KS, brother-in-law Jude Crowell (and Heather ) of Nashville, TN, sister-in-law Jill Crowell of Nashville, TN, sister-in-law Jan Zamudio (and Juan) of Davidson, NC and sister-in-law, Julie Wyatt (and James) of Nashville, TN. Additionally, Paula had many cousins, nieces, nephews and “adopted” family members that she loved dearly. Her God Parents were Gary and Carlene Courtney of Florida.
The family will hold the visitation at Marshall Donnelley Combs on West End, Thursday, February 27th from 5:00pm-8:00pm. The family will receive visitors on Friday, February 28th from 10:00am-11:00am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brentwood, TN with Mass following at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be made to Joe’s employer, Alive Hospice, a non-profit facility located in Nashville, TN, in Paula’s memory. There is also a GoFundMe, PaulaCrowell, established to support her family for any current and future needs.
In the days leading up to her death, Paula told her family ‘I am ready for him, for I AM NOT AFRAID for He is with me.’
