Peggy Sue Patterson, age 82, of Franklin, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025. She left behind a legacy of love, devotion, and faith. Born on December 11, 1942, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Thomas S. and Onie E. Burnette, Peggy was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and cherished friend.
Peggy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Paul L. Patterson, Jr., her parents, and her brother Bobby Burnette (Judy). She is survived by her devoted children: Angela Faulkner (Keith), Melanie Heitzman (Tony), and Paul L. Patterson, III (Angie); her stepson John Degiacomo (Judy); her grandchildren Derek Faulkner (Katherine), Callie Duncan (Jacob), Bailie White (Slade), Kaycee Young (Hayden), Ashtin Woodie (Eli), Paul L. Patterson, IV, and Turner Heitzman; step-grandchildren Jay Degiacomo (Gina) and Ryan Degiacomo (Brittany); and 13 precious great-grandchildren.
A woman of remarkable strength and warmth, Peggy balanced a highly successful career as a Realtor with Lokey Kinser Realty and Shirley Zeitlin Realtors with her deep commitment to her family. Her love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was boundless—her family was truly her heart and soul. Peggy’s love language was hospitality and nothing brought her more joy than preparing home-cooked meals and gathering her loved ones together.
Peggy also cherished her friendships deeply. Her circle of lifelong friends brought her immense joy, laughter, and companionship —especially during their regular bridge card games, which she looked forward to with enthusiasm and warmth. These gatherings were a source of happiness and connection that she held dear throughout her life.
She and Paul were long-time, devoted members of Brentwood Baptist Church, living a life rooted in faith, gratitude, and generosity. Together, they traveled the world, ultimately fulfilling a shared dream in 2001 of retiring and spending half the year at their second home in Naples, Florida. They shared a beautiful life of adventure, love, and unwavering commitment to one another.
Peggy believed in using her blessings to serve others. She actively served on the Board of the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home and, alongside Paul, contributed to building orphanages in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil—believing in lending a helping hand to those in need.
Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched with her kindness, faith, and enduring love.
The family would like to extend a sincere Thank You to Touching Hearts’ Caregivers who so lovingly helped care for her these last eight months in addition to Hospice of Middle Tennessee.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN 37204. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the funeral service to follow at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel.
