

A graduate of DuPont High School class of 1964, he was active in the alumni association.
Phillip was a master carpenter until his retirement and was actively involved in Boy Scouts for years as a Scout Master with Troop 777 out of Hermitage.
Preceded in death by his Father William Phillip Armstrong, Mother Hilda Gaynell Baker Armstrong and Brother James Harold Armstrong and Great Grandson Kylen Marshall.
Survived by wife Hallie Jarreau Armstrong, daughters Tressa (David) Merlin, Jamie Shirah, Martina (Chad) Spencer. Step daughter Lauren(Chase) Humphrey and step son Charles Jarreau.
Grandchildren, Brian and Noah Merlin, Evan(Kylee) Shirah, Ryan, Tyler and Alex Marshall. Great-Grandchildren, Victoria and Brayden Merlin, Hudson Shirah, Skye and Rylie Marshall, Addilyn Rife and Emerlyn Marshall and step grandchildren Lillian and Stella Humphrey.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Centennial Hospital 4th floor ICU for their care and compassion in his last day.
Two services will be held as follows: Celebration of life service will be held in his memory at Lakewood Baptist Church 400 Donelson Pike Donelson , Tn 37214 on January 4th from 1pm-3pm, service at 2pm Brother Keith Cameron officiating. A celebration of life will be held February 1st from 1-3 PM at MTC Beaman-Curb Conference Center 3414 Hillsboro Pike Nashville, Tn 37215
