Rachel M. Harrison

Rachel Dale McFerrin Harrison - age 86, loving mother and grandmother went to her heavenly home on January 8, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Overton Harrison and brother Blakely McFerrin.

Her solid and never waiving faith in God carried her throughout her life. She grew up in the ARP church then later became a member of First Presbyterian Church in Nashville.

Known for her love of family history, Rachel could recall stories of family members with great detail and fond memories.

A graduate of Erskine College during WWII, she majored in English and excelled in intramural basketball. She went on to pursue a short teaching career before turning to a career in accounting. Rachel will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survived by daughters Betsy (Mike) Reeves, Lynchburg; Cathy Harrison and Carolyn Harrison; two grandchildren Brad Reeves and Thad Reeves.

Family and friends will gather to remember Rachel Thursday from 3:00 until 8:00 at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton with funeral services will be 2:30 Friday in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall, Rev. Sandra Randleman officiating.

Funeral services will also be conducted 1:00 Saturday with visitation from 11:00 at Prosperity Church 19 Prosperity Church Road Taft, TN 38488 with Rev. Charles Edgar, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Prosperity Church or Prosperity Cemetery Association.
