Raymond E. Grinder, Jr.Nashville, TN, Age 80, passed away May 9, 2015 after an extended illness. He is survived by and will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Opal Grinder; devoted daughters, Jan Paone, Julie Sweeney and husband Jeff; brother, Sam Grinder and wife Theresa; grandsons, Lesley Paone (Lara Lane) and Christopher Sweeney.Preceded in death by father, Raymond E. Grinder, Sr., and brother, Bobby Grinder.Raymond was born in Hohenwald, TN, and married his high school sweetheart, Opal, in 1956. He was as in love with her 59 years later as the day he married her. He was a devoted father to his "girls", Papaw and world famous "Daw" to his grandsons and dog lover to Pepper. He loved unconditionally to those lucky enough to be in his inner circle. During his life, he served in the Air Force, graduated from the University of Tennessee and the YMCA Nashville School of Law. He was always proud of the fact that he passed the bar exam on his first attempt! He was a lifelong educator, teaching computer sciences at Nashville State Technical Institute and assisting scores of graduates with job placement in the computer programming field. He enjoyed his retirement years, spending time with his family and friends and never missed an opportunity to travel to Tunica and try his hand at lady luck! Visitation with family will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home, 429 Donelson Pk, Nashville, TN. Graveside service to be held at the Swiss Cemetery in Hohenwald, TN, at 2pm on Wednesday, May 13. Friends and family will serve as Pallbearers
