He was born on July 2, 1949, in Nashville, Tennessee. Richard graduated from Belmont University and went on to have a long career in sales. Outside of work, he was passionate about antique radios, building a vast collection over the years. He was well known for restoring vintage radios in his spare time and enjoyed being part of a community that shared his interest in preserving these pieces of history.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Maria (Strittmatter) Harris; daughters Mia (Marc) Cover, Marissa Harris, and Michelle Harris; grandchildren Harrison, Isabella, and Lucia; and his sister, Linda (Paul) Faulk.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Laura Harris.

A visitation for Richard will be held Thursday, July 3, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Mount Olivet Funeral Home & Cemetery, 1101 LEBANON PIKE, NASHVILLE, TN 37210, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
