Richard John Quirk Jr.

September 9, 1946November 20, 2020

Richard John “Jack” Quirk Jr. passed away peacefully at home on November 20, 2020 surrounded by his family. He had a zest for life and never wasted a day. If he wasn’t working or helping others, he was spending time with family and friends. His priorities and joys in life were his children and grandchildren. He returned to Nashville and was employed by Nashville Electric Service for 47 years. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW, American Legion and Rolling Thunder. In his free time he loved riding his Harley Davidson.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years Sheila Baltz Quirk; children Kim Quirk, Kristie (Patrick) Clunan, Trey (Holly) Quirk and Scotty Quirk, grandchildren Jack, Sean, and Sydnee Clunan, Kenzie, and Cole Quirk; sisters Julia Lawson, Patty Mayo, Mary (Joe) Craven, brothers Kevin, Tim, and Danny Quirk; many loving brother and sister-in-law’s, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Eva Quirk and brothers Shawn Quirk and Martin Quirk.

Gathering of family and friends will be on Monday, November 23rd from 4:00-8:00pm at Church of the Holy Rosary, 192 Graylynn Drive Nashville. Knew Jack from the High School days when playing football together and got to know him even better when marrying my first cousin Sheila Baltz. Even though living out of town for the last 45 years, it didn’t keep me from knowing what a wonderful man he was. Not only did he love Sheila and cared so deeply for family, but shared his warm friendship with those whom he worked with as well. No doubt, he’s transferred that same warmth to his family, cousins, and friends. Thank you Jack for being good to so many. Will remember always,

43 years ago, Jack and a small crew wired our new home. At that time, we were doing a lot of the building ourselves and working until dark. Jack installed temporary lights so we ended up working until 10pm. Jack was a wonderful person and never hesitated to help others. His caring for others has been adopted by his family. When I turn on a light switch, I will thank Jack.
