

Mrs. Rita Schweickart Huneycutt, 75, of Nashville, passed away September 25, 2018. Mrs. Huneycutt was born in Nashville to the late Joseph and June Schweickart. She was a graduate of Nashville’s Isaac Litton High School in 1961, and after graduation, moved to New York where she joined American Airlines as a stewardess. In 1969 she moved back to Nashville to work for WMAK radio station, where she met her husband Dick.
Together Rita and Dick raised their daughters Stephanie and Mary Ann in Nashville except for a two-year period when they lived in Hawaii. At age 40, she changed careers and spent over 25 years as a real estate agent and managing broker. She attended Belle Meade Methodist Church and enjoyed painting, gardening and spending time with her family and friends. She was a beautiful, strong lady who was dearly loved by her family and all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband Richard D. Huneycutt; daughters Stephanie Huneycutt Davidson (Rick Langreck) of Nashville and Mary Ann (Mark) Bacurin of Nashville, granddaughters Maggie, Molly and Mae Bacurin; and nephew Kerry Hopkins, of Goodlettsville.
Visitation will be held from 10am-noon on Saturday, September 29, at Belle Meade United Methodist Church with a memorial service to follow immediately afterward.
