Rita Mae Odom

Born April 13, 1958, in Huntland, Tennessee, Rita was the devoted, loyal, kind-hearted, loving, and beloved daughter of Jack Austin and Betty Sue Bryant Austin.

Rita married Roy Odom in Hermitage, Tennessee on May 11, 1997. She dedicated her life to her home and family as a homemaker, offering steady care and a warm presence that reflected her generous spirit and deep commitment to those around her.

Rita found joy in simple, heartfelt pursuits—painting, camping, and spending time playing with her dogs. These interests brought her peace and happiness, and they remain tender reflections of the life she lived with quiet grace.

In addition to her father, Rita is preceded in death by her brother: Greg Austin; sister-in-law: Sandy Austin; and niece: Valerie Austin.

Rota is survived by her son: Gerald Baxter; daughter: Rene Baxter; grandchildren: Ryan Baxter, Lily Baxter, Kaiden Bush, and Iziah Sheldon.

An Urn burial will take place at a later time, and Mount Olivet Cemetery; 1101 Lebanon Pike, Nashville, TN 37210.
