

Robert E. Cowan Jr., 93 of Nashville passed away on August 27, 2018. He was born in Nashville
to the late Robert E. Cowan and Bess Everett Cowan. Bob was a charter member of Westminister
Presbyterian Church where he was an elder, long time Sunday School teacher and served on many committees. He served in the Army during WWII after which he went on to graduate from Vanderbilt University. He was the long time owner of Central-Cumberland Corp. He was the former president of the Lion’s Club and Chairman of the Board of the Better Business Bureau of Nashville. He was preceded
in death by his wife of fifty-six years Ella Jordan Cowan and his son Robert E. Cowan III. He is survived by his son and daughter in law Leland and Nan Cowan of Nashville and daughter and son in law Amy and Jack Wilson of New Orleans, LA. Grandchildren Kate, Bess, Robert and Sam Cowan and Christopher, Jordan, Callie and Sam Wilson of New Orleans. He is also survived by his loving companion Virginia Potter. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday Sept 1, 2018 at 11am with visitation 1 hour prior at Westminister Presbyterian Church 3900 West End Avenue. The
family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Westminister Presbyterian Church or the Charity of your choice.
