I grew up with Cotter. We were in the first grade together. We graduated from high school together. He lived on Jay Street and I lived on the next street over which was Peachtree Street. We grew up inWoodbine, a suburb of Nashville. Cooter was chubby and I was very skinny. We played backyard football and baseball together. He was the first in our neighborhood to get an English bicycle. His mother would honk her car horn as a signal for him to come home. I just just learned of his passing today. So sad to lose a childhood friend....Tom Robinson Ooltewah, Tn 11-25-2020

Cooter was always in my yard from the time in school at Whitsett through our time at Central playing in my yard baseball and football with all the guys! We hung out a lot at Shoney’s, double dated and he was driving when I tried to pick Martha up at 16th and Grand and she invited me to church but I coaxed her phone number and married 10 months later! Teammates on Capitol Cleaners and Woodbine Baptist baseball! Like a brother to me growing up! Praying for family!
