

SHERMAN, Robert Park, Friday, May 6, 2011. Born in Chicago, Illinois, December 31, 1919. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mae Levine and Jacob S. Sherman, his brother William P. Sherman, and stepdaughter Julie Seigenthaler Amos. Mr. Sherman attended and graduated Francis Parker, Chicago, Illinois, and Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire. He served in the United States Navy in W W II as skipper of a PT boat in both the North and South Pacific. He moved to Nashville in 1960, when he and his brother moved the family business, Park Sherman, to Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The business was sold in 1982. He owned and operated Woodbury Corporation and it was sold in 1986. He loved all sports and at one time in his life enjoyed golf and tennis. With his wife, he enjoyed all travel but especially travel in Europe. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Denise (Mickie) Allen Sherman, a son Jacob S. Sherman, II daughters Ann Edelman, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Cathy (Grant) Peeples, Tallahassee, Florida, stepson Walter Allen Seigenthaler, Perry, Oklahoma, 2 granddaughters, 1 step granddaughter, 1 step grandson, and 6 great grandchildren. There will be no visitation. Private family services to be held Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Middle Tennessee Veteran's Cemetery.
