Roger E Mauck

Roger earned a BA from University of Evansville in 1970, a milestone that reflected both steady dedication and a grounded approach to life that would remain with him in the years that followed.

Roger’s working life included Mauck Supply and Fox Sales, where he was known for the same dependable presence and considerate manner that shaped his relationships beyond the workplace.

On March 19, 1971, Roger married Kathy Sue Brammer at Bethlehem United Church of Christ in Evansville, Indiana. In the years that followed, he became a devoted husband and father whose family never had to wonder where they stood—his priorities were clear in the time he gave, the patience he showed, and the quiet ways he put others first. He spent countless hours playing sports with his three children, and did so with a generosity of spirit that made each of them feel as though he had all the time in the world.

Roger found deep enjoyment in the simple, lasting pleasures of everyday life: watching grandkids play sports, golf, watching college football, playing cards and games, and spending time with animals and in nature. These were not merely pastimes to him, but familiar places where his calm presence, gentle humor, and appreciation for others could be felt most naturally.

He also gave his time and attention to the communities he cared about, including the TSSAA Officials' Association, Lambda Chi Alpha (LXA) Fraternity, and the Indiana Football Officials Association. Roger served as a highschool football referee for over 20 years and officiated in a highschool state championship game—an honor that spoke to his fairness, steadiness, and respect for the game.

Above all else, Roger will be remembered for the way he made people feel: welcomed, valued, and at ease. Kind and easygoing, he was a joy to be around—quick with a joke, slow to complain, and rarely known to speak an unkind word. His gentle nature and devotion to his family will remain his enduring legacy.
